Park Lodge School is currently awaiting its OFSTED registration and is an integral part of the care and treatment programme facilitated within Park Lodge; A tier 4 Eating disorder service in the heart of Wolverhampton.
All young people admitted to Park Lodge attend this on-site provision. Where possible, young people attending our eating disorder service will continue to study subjects chosen at their home school or college but alternative arrangements are available.

Students we work with
We provide specialist education and learning opportunities for young people who have been admitted to Park Lodge. Our provision is commissioned by a young person’s Local Authority (LA) who must first agree to meet the fees for the school placement within Park Lodge.
Alternative arrangements will be made by the LEA to continue a young person’s education if they decide not to commission the services provided by the on-site school or that Young person is post compulsory education and decides not to work with the school.
Family, Community and Carer Involvement
We understand and recognise that our students are admitted to hospital from across the country and in some cases, beyond. With us being a small 12 person service everyone will have the contact details for the Headteacher as their key point and failing that the other key teachers. We encourage a close working relationship between young person, family, community team and carers involvement.
Open and transparent communication is key, and we encourage people to let us know what works best for them in terms of staying in touch. The school provides education reports for Care Planning Approach (CPA) which is led by the hospital and keep attendance, EHCP and assessment date in the school.
We welcome your feedback both positive and supportive to ensure your child receives the best education whilst at the hospital. Should you need to, we have a rigorous complaints system, and a policy is in place to support this process. Please see our policies section for further information.

Equipped with laptops and a fully interactive smart board, a Pet, Musical instruments and personal drawers, this space ensures a conducive learning environment. Upon admission, each student receives their personal laptop log in and gains access to an array of resources, including mathematical and scientific equipment, literary texts, textbooks, drawing materials, and art supplies. We also have the flexibility to procure additional resources tailored to the unique needs of each student.

At Park Lodge School, the curriculum is influenced by the students' respective home schools, which provide assignments to be completed during their inpatient stay. Our dedicated teachers assist and guide students, ensuring continuity in their educational journeys and minimising disruptions to their progress. The curriculum is flexible to accommodate the diverse needs of students across various age groups.
For those students whose sole educational institution is Park Lodge School (mainly those intending to pursue further education at KS5), we offer purposeful learning opportunities that are accredited.
Key Stage 3 (KS3):
During KS3, students engage with core subjects while enjoying a comprehensive and well-rounded curriculum. Additionally, students have designated times, with staff support, to access and complete assignments from their home schools.
Key Stage 4 and 5 (KS4 and KS5):
In KS4 and 5, students focus specifically on their home school or college work. Our specialised teachers collaborate with home schools to support the majority of GCSE subjects. Post-16 students have an assigned teacher throughout the school day to aid independent study, ensuring access to resources and specialist guidance as needed.
Enrichment:
All students can participate in music lessons and groups, partake in educational visits and experiences (subject to risk assessment and health considerations), and engage in special events such as the Christmas celebration, craft fair, and other activities supporting charity work chosen by the students.
Overview:
Our students follow a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual needs. In KS3, the timetable aligns with their home school peers, encompassing subjects like English, Maths, Science, Humanities (History, Geography, and Religious Education), Languages (French, Spanish, or German), Art, Music, and PSHE. Additionally, students have allocated 'catch-up' sessions for subjects not covered in the regular timetable.
At KS4, all students have timetabled 'core' subjects (English, Maths, and Science) and work with their 'Key Teacher' to create a bespoke timetable covering their chosen GCSE option subjects.
In KS5, timetables and teaching slots are personalised to meet individual needs. Like in KS4, students collaborate with their 'Key Teacher' to create a highly personalised timetable that can be reviewed and adapted throughout their admission. As a teaching team, we provide specialist instruction for most subjects, collaborating closely with specialists at the students' home schools when needed.
